Apple has been riding on the success wave since the launch of the iPhone 6s. The sales figures depict that the iPhone 6s has been flying off the racks as the company claims to sell over 13 million new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus models. Currently the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus has been made available to approximately 50 different countries by the first half of October, 2015 and will be made available to 130 other countries by the end of this year. According to the brand, the sales figures have broken the previous record of other iPhone model sales. But as the trend goes, the brand has been seen to plan ahead. As per the buzz in the industry, the work on the next version of iPhone that is iPhone 7 is already on its way. Looking into the past trends, the brand works towards adding new features to each of its forthcoming models with keeping the baseline intact. The major modifications have been observed in the design and chipset segment in the last couple of years. Hence, certain basic and important features of iPhone 7 can be predicted and compared against the newly launched iPhone 6s.
Firstly, the main lookout point is the major specification area. The iPhone 6s has a 4.7 inchdisplay with a 5.5 inch 3D Touch. Not much change is expected on that but the screen resolution might increase to 2560 x 1440 in iPhone 7 along with a probable QHD display. Taking into consideration of the look and feel, iPhone models have rounded edges and aluminum body which is common to iPhone 6s too. Same can be expected in case of iPhone 7. But, in recent past the brand has stressed into building thinner and compact design, so it can be predicted that the iPhone 7 will have a slimmer body than iPhone 6s. It terms of storage, not much difference is expected. However, CPU and RAM is predicted to be enhanced. iPhone 7 might endorse A10 processor and 3GB RAM compared to A9 processor and2GB RAM of iPhone 6s. It will be also interesting to see how Apple keeps up to the fact that most of the Android smartphones will have 4GB RAM on an average by 2016. Also the brand needs to look out on the storage level as the 16GB mark has been way far behind. The brand needs to step up to the 32 GB storage level on an urgent basis.
On the design terms, it can been ensured that the brand will concentrate on a slimmer body for iPhone 7 than iPhone 6s. The thinness of the model might range within 6.0mm and 6.5mm. There are doubts on the adoption of glass-on-glass touch panels which can ensure the iPhone 7 to be bezel free. But this would also mean than the iPhone 7 might turn a bit thicker. So there are chances that the brand will likely drop this idea and stick to the in-cell touch panels.

Regarding the waterproofing, at lot of predictions are making rounds in the market. Waterproofing the model by adding internal gaskets might be an option. There have been a certain claim from a Chinese website that the brand will ditch the traditional metal casing and switch to the plastic casing for making the iPhone 7 highly waterproof. But the true fact is yet to be revealed.
The iPhone 6s is facilitated with the LTE chipset from Qualcomm. However, certain sources are claiming that the Intel is working on an LTE chipset for the iPhone 7especially compatible with the iPhones. There won’t be much difference to the users but it will help the brand to bring down the costs.

In terms of display, the iPhone 6s has come up with the 3D Touch display and it can be expected that the iPhone 7 might retain the same. Nevertheless, it can be expected that a higher resolution display like the QHD, can also be included in the iPhone 7. This display is with 2560 x 1440 resolution which is predicted to become a trend by 2016. The brand might also come up with the idea of upgrading the 3D Touch display with a new feature add-on of two types of pressure inputs to make it a more sensitive feature. Other than this, not much is expected on the grounds of display.
The camera of iPhone 6s is 12 MP on the rear and 5MP FaceTime camera. Not much is expected on this ground al well but the brand might introduce the optical image stabilization feature across all models. Currently iPhone 6s Plus only has this feature. There is the facility of 4k video recording on the rear camera of iPhone 6s. This is expected to be retained in the camera of iPhone 7. However, the FaceTime camera may receive the similar feature of 4k video recording for the iPhone 7 model.
With all these speculations on the role, only 2016 will mark the official confirmation on the features and launch of Apple iPhone 7 model.
