The recent poll conducted by 9to5Mac for its readers about whether they were fully satisfied about the battery life of the current iPhones had the response of 3100 readers. Over 90% have said that they need a better battery life in the next flagship smartphone of Apple. If you are following the series of Apple iPhones closely, then the response by the poll responders will not surprise you. For a long time these devices have been criticized for having an inappropriate battery life. If you have bought one of these flagship smartphones from Apple then charging it everyday is mandatory which makes it a big issue for its maker.
However when you compare the iPhone series with its arch rival, Samsung’s Galaxy Series the Galaxy phones have a commendable battery life, making the iPhone take a back seat. In addition, Samsung Electronics Co. is expected to upgrade the battery power for its upcoming Galaxy S6. Hence, Apple has to do something about the battery life of its iPhone 7 before hits the market to give a tough competition to its rival. The survey results by 9to5Mac also suggests that Apple must now focus on offering devices with an enhanced battery life instead of concentrating on making it thinner and on other such elements. More than 60% of the respondents of the survey have also said that Apple must offer a thicker iPhone next time as it would help in having a better battery life. And 31% have stated that Apple must focus on improving the battery life of its iPhone series by providing a superior chipset.
Hence the overall consensus of the poll responders is that Apple must enhance the battery life of its iPhone series. Whether such changes would be followed in the upcoming iPhone 7 remains a mystery but we feel that its maker must really pay heed to this poll opinion. It is true that the firm based in Cupertino is in a strong spot in the market. The healthy rates of its stock are a fine example of the fact and it has recently revealed that it has recorded the biggest single quarter profit in the history of business. However the poll has now made one thing clear, which is that even the iPhone series fans wish to see a change in the battery performance of their favourite iPhones.
Apple has got the right opportunity to respond to the poll response obviously by improving the battery size of iPhone 7. This is completely logical as such change is sure to happen. If you remember, Apple had already improved the battery size of iPhone 6 when compared to the ones used earlier in iPhone 5c and iPhone 5. Hence we can expect the iPhone 7 to have a bigger and better battery with a prolonged life. But we must also remember that the change in battery size has not made a positive contribution to battery life. And, the second possibility is to adjust the iOS operating system of the iPhone 7 to enhance its power saving ability.
Apart from such options, there have been many suggestions which state that the presence of 1 GB in iPhone 6 would be hiked to 2 GB. It is also possible that the accessible memory in the iPhone might be used to lower the strain on the device’s processing unit, which in turn would have a positive effect in making the phone a battery friendly one.
As the iPhone is expected to hit the market by the later part of third quarter or by early Q4 this year, it is still much early to confirm any of these innovations. However the poll has made one thing clear for Apple, which is the fact that the users of iPhone are not happy with the battery life and wish it to make some amendments to enhance it in the latest iPhone 7.
