The sequel of iPhone 6 is least likely to be iPhone 6S or iPhone 6C (More on this later. Watch out this space for more) and will be dubbed as iPhone 7. Given the product lifecycle, the new flagship could release next year, around September. In the anticipation of the new device, Apple Analysts and experts are sharing concept images that outline their idea of upcoming release.
Here we are talking about concept images shared by a Russian designer, GrishaSerov. Serov has christened his iPhone 7 design as iPhone Edition and visualized the new device in a shiny metallic case.
iPhone 7 Concept Images
GrishaSerov, the Russian designer has released a new concept for iPhone 7 that is based on steel case. If this happens, trust me, we are in for a really intriguing piece of technology. Serov’s idea of Apple iPhone 7 is more retro-ish and shares aesthetic DNA with the ol’ school iPhone 3GS.
In the alignment with the buzz surrounding the idea of next-generation smartphone, the concept images do not show any presence of home button. This is something we have been seeing too often. Concept images of iPhone 7 by Flickr user Jan-Willem Reusink were also on the same lines that predict an edge-to-edge and bezel free display with no physical home button. Reusink’s iPhone 7 is also minimalist in design and looks like a radical yet functional approach to a new-age smartphone. Similarly the noted 3D visualizer, Martin Hajek has also supported the idea of iPhone 7 with narrow edges, full screen and a display that stretches to the edges.
This cannot be a coincidence. If you have been paying attention, you would have definitely seen Sharp Aquos Crystal handset that is the first ever Android based bezel-free device. So, if fans want Apple to launch something on the same lines, why not!

Well, let us not digress and come back to Serov’s iPhone 7 concept images. In tandem with Apple Watch and its finger pressure display, the iPhone 7 model of Serovcould also feature TouchID functionality.Serov’s ideation for Apple flagship goes beyond the attractive steel casing. According to him, the smartphone would feature extra-slim bezels. While trying to maintain the weight and size of its elder sibling, iPhone 6, the OEM would definitely try to pack in a larger screen. It is to be noted that despite its larger screen, iPhone 6 Plus is handy and far lighter than its Android counterparts Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Google Nexus 6. And we are sure than Apple would not want to leave this out in the upcoming flagships.
Single Volume Control Button
The Russian designer has conceptualized a revolutionary iPhone 7 design that showcases the phone with single button for volume control. As per him, the button also doubles up as mute button for the device.
iPhone 7 Camera
The concept images also show that the camera of iPhone 7 won’t protrude as much as it does in the earlier versions of iPhone. If it is true at all, the company would have to increase the thickness of device and can risk increasing the weight of the device.
Three models of iPhone 7 including an iPhone mini?
Serov also presents the three models of iPhone 7 and that should not come as a surprise if Apple launches three models of different screen sizes and features to lure separate market segments.
If the concept images are any revelation, there will be three models by the OEM, one of the size of iPhone 6 Plus, one larger than iPhone 6 but smaller than the iPhone 6 Plus and the mini edition of phone, with a screen size approximately 0.2 inches smaller than the iPhone 6. This will put iPhone in the same category of iPod or iPad Mini. Apart from the desired change in product lifecycle to compete the ever-evolving Android segment, this will help Apple to address segment that is on a constant lookout for value-for-money proposition.
As of now, it is clear from Segov’s concept images for iPhone 7 that Apple would cut down on the hardware to make way for an edge-to-edge screen. Until we have any concrete news on Apple iPhone 7, which is not going to happen any time soon, let us all bask in the concept images releasing across the world and giving wings to Apple fans in the anticipation what the new flagship may look like!
