The iPhone 6 is out and has broken all the records of pre-orders on the first day. Seen as the android cure, this flagship from the Apple is a sheer piece of beauty and innovative technology. This time, the Cupertino based company has left us at the threshold and in a dream-like reverie where we can just imagine that what technology will be like in the years to come. So, while people are waiting for their iPhone 6, we bring you the lowdown on what features we might to see in the iPhone 7.
1) Wireless Charging
So, our smartphones are getting thinner. The display is made of rock-solid sapphire glass, has curved screen and some double-digit pixel camera but we still have to use meters-long wired charger to juice up the battery! Not fair. Though, the wireless ‘Qi’ charger exists but it relies on induction and needs to maintain the contact with the charging platform. This feature also exists in iPhone 6 but for iPhone 7, we would really be thrilled if the engineers could give us the ability to charge our phones wirelessly akin to WiFi hotspots. If this happens, you may not need to carry charger everywhere you go or look for a power plug either.
2) 100% waterproof
If you have spent a night wide awake waiting in a miles-long queue for your iPhone flagship to arrive, you would not want it to take a dive in water and to be pronounced ‘dead upon arrival’ by its doctor. Water and accidentally dropping are two leading health hazards for the iPhones all around the world. So, guess we all could really use this feature in iPhone 7.
3) Self-destruction mode
Remember Mission Impossible? Yes, you get the drift. We would like to see a more advanced and enhanced remote wiping solution in the iPhone 7 than what we are getting through the FindMyiPhone app. Some kind of overload signal that would leave iPhone of no use for the thieves. This can really cut down on the thefts of Apple flagship and save the sensitive data you do not want anybody to access.
4) A generic Mini USB Charging Port
Apple has always known to be proprietary with its devices and this always costs us a fortune. Spending $30 for mini USB by Apple is a spoilsport. So, better put a port like everyone else. Does it come like an order? Take it as a pleading from a fan girl, will you please?
5) Boost the Volume
Users of iPhone 5 have reported volume problems too often. This problem was non-existent in iPhone 4 and its older siblings. Either the voice coming is too soft or too harsh to bear. So, the volume needs to be tuned, adjusted and widen.
6) Solar Charging
Solar charging kits have been around for years now but none of the OEMs have thought of integrating it to facilitate users. Strange, isn’t it? iPhone 7 could totally use this feature in our point-of-view.
7) Retina Tracking
If only this could be possible! The spy-feel you will get from unlocking your iPhone through retina would be so awesome. On the serious note, gazing at the screen to unlock the phone is the thing of past. Android users have been there and done that so, we Apple fans would definitely like the hands-free and totally geeky approach to unlock their beloved iPhone 7. This is not a far-fetched idea either as the patients with ALS or ice-bucket disease are already using the same technology and Apple would just need to commercialize it a bit.
So, here are some of the features we would definitely like to see in iPhone 7. Our wish list is quite never ending but we have managed to zero in on a few to make the next generation iPhone class apart. Meanwhile, we would also like to listen from you about features you would want Apple to include in its new flagship.
